The Historical Engineering Society (HES)’s mission is to promote living history, to research historical engineering methods, to advance students’ collaboration and research skills, and to foster collaborations with the local community for the purpose of education and outreach.
Currently, the HES is finalizing its engineering and design plans to build a scale model of medieval trebuchet, a siege engine utilized to destroy castle fortifications. After completing our analyses, we will be seeking approval from the UCCS Safety Officer to begin construction this spring.
Please join us on Friday, January 20th, from 3 – 4:30 pm at Columbine Hall 2036 for our next planning meeting. For more information, please contact Mr. Ben Putnam, Chairman of the HES (bputnam@uccs.edu) or Mr. Joe Sandoval, Vice-Chairmain of the HES (jsandova@uccs.edu).

The HES will meet:
Design review on March 9th @ 130 pm. It will be held in SENG A-321.
Previous to this meeting I will meet with UCCS Facilities Director at the UCCS Expo Center to view the space allowed for trebuchet construction at 11AM. Please let me know if you want to see our worksite too!
Joe, HES, Vice.
