First off, thank you to everyone who came to the meeting! We really appreciate your interest in, and support of, the trebuchet project. The first order of business at last night’s meeting was the history of HES, how it began, and where we currently are in the design and fundraising process. For those who were unable to attend the meeting and would like to know more about the origins and direction of the Historical Engineering Society please email us at Historicalengineeringsociety@gmail.com and we will respond to your inquiries in a timely manner. Specific details of the design discussed at last nights meeting were the release and locking mechanisms, the sling, the physical properties of white oak, and the degree of historical accuracy which is appropriate for the safety and functionality of the trebuchet.
